Growing Up Was Mandatory
Being boring wasn't.
Momo's After School Club is a made-up 1990s art club for grown-ups. There is no building and there is no bell โ there is a craft table, a cat, and a standing belief that adults are still allowed to like toys. The club is a fiction. Everything it sells is real, made by hand, and shipped by a person.
The club exists because somewhere between the last day of school and a full-time job, a lot of people quietly put away the glitter glue. We are formally requesting it back. Everything we make is colorful, nostalgic, handmade, and slightly strange โ art objects, accessories, clothing, toys, and oddities for people who kept the good box of stuff under the bed.
No grades. No tryouts. No dress code, which is genuinely disappointing, because everyone here would have crushed it.
The original poster. Made with scissors, a glue stick, and a photocopier that was already dying.
Faculty & Staff
A very small staff with very large opinions.
Momo
Founder, Club President, Craft Supervisor
Self-important, sleepy, curious, mildly judgmental about color choices. Personally inspects every project. Attendance: questionable.
The Shelf
Head of Inspiration
Holds roughly two hundred small plastic animals. Reorganized monthly. Gets worse every time, which everyone agrees is progress.
Locker Bank 4
Storage, Vibes
Where the unfinished projects live. Three of them have been in there since spring and we have made peace with that.
The Sign
Mission Statement
"Art creates a better reality." Bought secondhand, rewired badly, hung slightly crooked. It flickers when the kiln runs.
Club Rules
Posted by the door. Ignored cheerfully.
Members always welcome
There is no cool table. There is one table and everyone is at it.
No grades, just good stuff
Nothing here has to be good. It has to be interesting, which is easier and more fun.
Finish nothing on schedule
Deadlines are for work. This is after school.
Visible glue is allowed
If you can see how it was made, that is a feature. We are not hiding the seams.
Show & tell is mandatory
Bring the weird thing. Explain it at length. Nobody will stop you.
Respect the President
If Momo is sitting on the good paper, that is now her paper. Use the other paper.
What You're Actually Buying
Pinned to the board by the door, next to a permission slip from 1996.
Every piece is cut, glued, painted, or strung by one person at one table. No workshop, no staff, no drop-shipping.
Show & tell pieces exist exactly once. When yours ships, the listing gets a stamp on it and nobody else can claim it.
Lost & found pieces are built from thrifted and broken things. They show their age deliberately. Photos are of the actual item.
Tissue paper, a pink bag, a sticker, and a tag with Momo on it. Nothing is an optional extra.
Small parts, wire, resin, and vintage components throughout. Made for adults, kept away from kids and pets.
Bought something and want it on the board? Send a photo and we will put it up โ with your permission, and your words, not ours.
Questions
Raise your hand. Or do not, and just read these.
Is this club real?
The club is a fiction โ there is no building, no bell, and no roll call. The shop is entirely real: orders are placed, packed by hand, and posted. Momo is also real and would like that on the record.
How does payment work?
Checkout is handled by Stripe. You are taken to their payment page, so your card details are never entered on this site and we never see them. You get a receipt from Stripe straight away, and a note from us when your parcel ships.
Is any of this for children?
No. It is nostalgic, not childish. Everything is made for adults who never stopped liking toys, stickers, dress-up, and making things badly on purpose. Small parts everywhere. Genuinely not a kids' shop.
What does "one of one" mean?
Exactly one exists. It is not an edition and it will not come back. Once it goes home with someone, the listing stays up with a stamp on it as a small memorial.
Can I request something specific?
Yes โ that is a special assignment. Describe the weirdest possible version of what you want and we will talk. Send it here โ
How often does the bulletin go out?
Roughly twice a month. More if a new semester drops, less if Momo is having a week. Sign the roster โ
Who is Momo, really?
A fluffy brown tabby with a white chest, four white paws, bright yellow-green eyes, a pink collar, and a heart-shaped name tag. She founded the club by sitting on a pile of craft supplies and refusing to move. We did the paperwork.
